Recipes from your pantry
What Is In My Pantry turns your current stock into a ready-made prompt for ChatGPT. Copy it, paste it into ChatGPT and get a recipe, or ten recipe ideas, that use the ingredients you already have.
How it works
- Open ChatGPT in the menu of the app.
- Choose a prompt: one detailed recipe, or ten recipe ideas.
- The app adds the list of everything in your inventory to the prompt: quantity, product name and brand.
- Copy the text, paste it in ChatGPT (or another AI assistant) and pick a recipe.
The standard prompt asks for a dinner for a family of two adults and two children. You can change the text before you send it, for example for a vegetarian meal or a different number of people.
Why use your inventory instead of typing ingredients?
Because the list is complete: you do not forget the jar at the back of the cupboard, and you do not have to type anything. Want to use up products that expire soon? Check the expiry overview first and add "use the yoghurt and spinach first" to the prompt. That is the quickest way to turn less food waste into a daily habit.
Tips for better results
- Keep your stock current by scanning products out when you use them.
- Mention equipment or time limits in the prompt, such as "ready in 30 minutes" or "no oven".
The ChatGPT recipe prompts are part of the Advanced subscription. What Is In My Pantry does not send your data to ChatGPT itself; you decide what you paste.
